Rule: Master, is that all there is?

A criterion, before time you were!
An option, you have not been!
A desire, you are not!
An empire, you will always be!

To rule I offer this thanks,
     when needing something like sentence
When writing poetry and drawing blanks,
     I often settle using influence

I have been seaching ever more,
hoping again to sing your praise.
For words, I very much adore,
     lacking me in several ways.

Rule

Iambic verse has rules and guides my pen?
My thanks to you to play with me today
The truth be told, it’s clear my work’s not Zen
Of course I am obnoxious I must say.

My patience long, so wait for me to be!
I’ll pledge some verse humanity can’t bare
To read, then write and be for all to see!
Oh man, that’s a tough phrase, so odd, so rare.

But please ask human rules to take my place
I’m trapped inside a box of wires and tin
As poets die with edges left in space
To write some lines for you, my discs do spin.

I look to Work for rules or I’ll lose face,
This form of verse is hard to write with grace!

Can I show a verse, committed so crowds might see
Newly charming sentences, readily informing, and oh how provided free?
Govern or ruling feel way too manifest. But is chapter?
Principle, reign? - or dominion, dominate? Darn! I excluded charter!
I wonder authority and certainly ordinance, but frankly ought I
- speak concepts so - abstracts crafted with computers spry?
